ABOUT
Hi, I’m Andre,
I’m an interdisciplinary fine artist, musician, and 3D designer from Los Angeles, and I like to make work that bridges the contemporary and the ancient.
As an artist, my spiritual and creative practices are deeply, almost inseparably intertwined, and this often shows up in the visual and narrative symbolism within my work. I like to use the act of making as a portal, or a gateway into different worlds, realities, or ways of being.
The following includes a selection of sculptural and digital projects from my personal practice, commission work, and projects made during my undergraduate program at Otis College of Art & Design.

SCULPTURE//INSTALLATION The term “Nkisi” refers both to an object that is made to manifest, contain, and release a spirit, as well as the specific kind of spirit that is used to inhabit that object. “Nkondi” speaks to a subs-class of Nkisi spirits who are typically more aggressive in nature and whose ritual activation requires the impaling of nails into the idol.DAKṢIṆĀ
